We had a great, albeit cold, day in the park, today. We want to thank all of the volunteers for braving the frigid weather to help make the park a better place. We had over 20 people come out to pick up trash, cleanup dog waste, and complete some trail work. Though cold, it was a productive day!
Look for postings for April soon. We are hosting two great events in April. On Saturday April 15, we will be participating in the Great American Cleanup. The plan is to have a park cleanup and dog waste cleanup. The park cleanup will focus on Grandview Overlook, while the dog waste will focus on Yucca Flats and the surrounding trails. There won’t be a trail work event on this day, as cleanup will be the focus.
That said, we will also be doing our three parks in three days trail work event again this year with Friends of Peregrine/Blodgett and Friends of Ute Valley for the Earth Day Weekend. Friday April 21 will see us at Blodgett Open Space, Saturday April 22 will see us at Palmer Park, and we will wrap it up Sunday April 23 at Ute Valley.
Keep on the lookout for those links to signup for all events, we will be posting them soon. Also note, because of these two events in April, we won’t be doing a first Saturday workday in April.
Thanks to all of you for your interest, care, and support. See you in the park!
